Our 2007 Christmas
Camp of Champions will help gymnasts become better
prepared for
competition. We will help gymnasts clean up routines and work on some new skills.
Our Visiting Staff
Dan Neal ~
Director of Health & Physical Education at Southwestern Oregon Community College; he was the owner and head coach of the Women's Gymnastics program for West Coast Gymnastics Academy. Holds a BA in Health & Physical Education, a Masters in Sports Coaching (nutrition & sports psychology). Dan is the Head Track Coach at SOCC and one of the better compuslory coaches in the Northwest.
Yoshi Nakayama ~
Director and Head Coach at Four Stars Gymnastics Academy in Antioch,
California. He has over 26 years coaching experience. Yoshi has coached
boys and girls, level 4 through Elite, in the Mid-west, West, and Japan and
holds a Masters in Biomechanics. Yoshi has coached at Arctic's Summer Camp
of Champions since 1998. He headed Arctic's delegation to Japan in June of
2005.
Hal Halverson ~
from Wyoming -- Hal has coached for many years helping athletes throughout California and the northwest to achieve their goals. He has coached athletes to the Pan American Games and has also coached many state, regional, and national champions during his career. Hal has been a visiting coach at Arctic's Summer Camp of Champions since 1998.
Facility
Our facility boasts over 15,000 square feet with an upper level observation area, offices, and restroom facilities. We have resi pits for vault and tumbling; loose foam pit for bars; new vault table; elite bars; Stratum Palmer floor; A tumble track; air track, and a string bed trampoline.
