Karen started coaching in 1985 at the age of 15. In March 1988 she began coaching for Arctic Gymnastics Center. Since then, Karen has coached the competitive compulsory and optional teams. She has produced many State, Regional and National competitors and champions. Since 1995 Karen has coached various High School programs in the Anchorage School District. Karen is an established choreographer who has created routines for the last 15 years for optional clubs, High Schools and College gymnasts. Karen has expanded her choreography to include various pageants, as well as dance and fitness competitions. Karen is also an accomplished Certified Women's Gymnastics Judge for levels 3 through 10 club, High School, and collegiate gymnastics since 1992. She has represented the judges from Alaska by having traveled to judge several Optional Regional Competitions. Throughout her years of coaching, choreography, and judging, Karen attended college and has attained her A.A. in Human Services, B.A. in Psychology, and her Master of Science in Counseling and Clinical Psychology. Karen is also a licensed Real Estate Agent.
